Spring 2015

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let everyone know that the spring meeting at Bush Brothers & Company was a great success! We had the best section meeting attendance in quite a while! To all our speakers, guests, and attendees…Thank you!

Prior to the section meeting, the Board of Directors held an all-day planning session to discuss the strategic plan and mission statement starting in 2015. I am excited about the potential to expand our section into something other than “meeting to be meeting.” The mission statement is agreed upon and has been posted on the home page.

The Board of Directors could really use some assistance if anyone is willing to serve…there are many options from full board member to helping with just one event. If you are interested, send us an email!

My thanks go to Lindsay Murphy who is coordinating a student poster review for late June or early July. Please support these students when the time comes and go view their hard work!

I hope to see all of you at our next meeting in August!

Welcome 2015

Hello All,

I wanted to welcome everyone to 2015 and I hope everyone has a great holiday! We are hoping to have our next meeting sometime in February near the Chattanooga area. I hope many of you can make it!

Other news:
I would like to challenge long time members to take a student to lunch a couple times this year and network with them. Please feel free to post this information on the Facebook page along with something you learned about the student in your area. Students feel free to post your availability and willingness for an opportunity there as well.

Students may also talk to your faculty representative to relay the same information to one of the board members or myself (Mark Morgan at UTK and Tony Johnston at MTSU).
